Grant Miller is an American-born artist who became a major star of the Euro-disco and Italo disco scene in Germany during the 1980s. Before his music career took off, Miller worked as a model and an actor, even appearing in the high-profile film The Cotton Club. His transition into the music industry was largely driven by his collaboration with the legendary German producer Fancy, and together they helped define the "Munich Sound" of the mid-80s. Despite his American nationality, Miller is famously categorized under the Italo disco umbrella, a term that described a specific electronic production style popular across Europe at the time rather than the artist's country of origin.
He is best known for his 1985 signature hit "Colder Than Ice," which remains a staple of club playlists and 80s dance compilations. Miller's career was marked by several other popular tracks, including "Red For Love" and "California Train." Notably, his song "Doctor For My Heart" was written by Modern Talking’s Dieter Bohlen, showcasing his connection to the highest tiers of European pop production. Through his work with both Fancy and Bohlen, Miller solidified his status as a key figure in the electronic dance music movement, bridging the gap between American performance and European synth-driven aesthetics.
